Once you get Zoey’s phone in An Elmwood Trail, you’ll notice a Diary app with several locked pages. These pages are unlocked as you progress through the story.
Each page contains a short riddle or poem you must solve using clues found on Zoey’s phone or websites in the game.
You’ll only be able to unlock a diary page when the story allows it—so don’t worry if one seems unavailable early on. You’ll get a prompt when it’s time.

An Elmwood Trail Diary Page 1 – After Interrogating Betty
Clue:
“I pedal down the streets,
racing wind so bold and swift.
Been using it forever,
it was the one and perfect gift.”
Hint: Think about something Zoey rides. Check the Gallery for a picture of it.

An Elmwood Trail Diary Page 2 – After Talking to Kyle
Clue:
“I can let time be free,
watch it fly away like a bird.
Or I can freeze it into moments,
while its hands spell out a word.”
Hint: Look at clocks in Zoey’s photos. Focus on the clock hands and what they point to.

Clue:
“Memories captured and shared,
but it’s the hearts that they seek.
Visit me and when you do,
read the firsts of what I speak.”
Hint: Open Zoey’s Pixabowl account. Check her captioned posts.

An Elmwood Trail Diary Page 4 – After Riverstone Car Wash Call (Feb 17)
Clue:
“Where I always find myself,
in times of blue and in times of gray.
Not many visit this cursed place,

Hint: Use Adam’s phone browser. Search for info on Riverstone and the Elmwood forest.

An Elmwood Trail Diary Page 5 – After Visiting Group Chat
Clue:
“A pink online journal,
by a friend famed far and wide.
Locked behind 3 taps,
a word hidden in plain sight.”
Hint: Think of Betty, the popular friend with a blog and merchandise. Use Adam’s phone to visit bettyblogs.com

Clue:
“I was 6, he was 8,

Hint: Ask Zoey’s brother Zac via messages for her old childhood nickname tied to her love for Fall.

Clue:
“My disbelief is fortunes,
dwindled on this date.
As I cracked open the cookie,

Hint: You just recovered data (photos and emails). Look for a photo with a fortune cookie. Mirror the image to read the numbers: 3 – 1 – 18 – 5. Match the numbers to letters of the alphabet.

Clue:
“A flower’s charm

Hint: Think about a friend who shares her name with a flower. This memory is deeply rooted in friendship.

An Elmwood Trail Diary Page 10 – After Talking to Damon’s Father
Clue:
“On long white keys I’m spelled,
a brief sequence of five.
To escape these endless confines,

Hint: This is a 5-letter word you can spell using piano keys. It connects with Zoey’s desire to break free or escape a difficult situation.

An Elmwood Trail Diary Page 11 – After Flashback with Brian & Solving Bomb Puzzle
Clue:

Hint: Reflects on a past relationship and an item that symbolized that bond. Look at Zoey’s chat with her ex-boyfriend, Shane.

Hint: Check Zoey’s recovered photos. Look for a picture showing letter tiles like those from Scrabble.
