You only get a Geode if you successfully secure both the treasure chest and the fish during the same catch. Miss one, and you lose the reward.
What Are Geodes?
Geodes are rare items that appear while fishing.
They contain Artifacts that give passive bonuses like:
- Speed
- Damage
- Carry weight
- Other stackable boosts
They improve your character permanently.
How to Get Geodes
Geodes only appear if a treasure chest shows up on your reel meter while catching a fish.
To successfully get a Geode:
- Keep control of both the fish and chest meters
- Fill the treasure chest meter
- Then finish catching the fish
If you lose either meter, you get nothing.
The key is balance.
Do not let one meter drain while focusing on the other.
Best Way to Increase Your Chances
Fish constantly in your highest unlocked zone.
More fishing = more chances for chest spawns.
There is no special bait or shortcut.
It is about control and repetition.

Each Geode appears in a specific zone.
Mossy Geode
Location: Forgotten Deep
Open Time: 1 minute
Basic artifacts
Cactus Geode
Location: Ancient Sands
Open Time: 3 minutes
Mid-tier artifacts
Rooted Geode
Location: Spirit Roots
Open Time: 5 minutes
Higher-tier artifacts
Higher zones give better rewards.
How to Open Geodes
Go to Virelia at Forgotten Deep.
She stands:
- Near the Tube shop
- In front of a large well
- Surrounded by purple crystal tentacles
To open a Geode:
- Pay the required gold
- Wait for the timer
Higher Geodes cost more gold and take longer.
You do NOT need to return.
Artifacts automatically go to your inventory.
Equip them from the Artifact menu.
Simple Action Plan
- Fish in your highest unlocked zone
- Secure chest meter
- Secure fish
- Collect Geode
- Give it to Virelia
- Keep fishing while it opens
Repeat.
