If you’re stuck looking for the key in Setting My New Garden Straight, don’t search inside the house. The key is outside, hidden in the grass to the right of the main entrance.
Some players find a blue key, while others find a red one. The color doesn’t matter—the location is the same.
Where Is the Key?
From the front of the house:
- Stand at the main entrance facing the house.
- Go to the right side of the front door.
- Look through the grass and flowerbeds.
- Pick up the small key.
If you’re having trouble spotting it, mowing the grass first can make it much easier to see.
How to Use the Key
After collecting the key:
- Walk to the locked garden gate.
- Interact with the door handle or the key prompt.
- The gate will unlock, giving you access to the second garden.
If the game says “The key has to be nearby,” make sure you’ve collected the key first. Simply moving it like a decoration won’t work—it must be added to your inventory before you can unlock the gate.
Still Can’t Open the Gate?
If you’ve found the key but the gate won’t open:
- Make sure you collected the key instead of grabbing it in build mode.
- Interact with the gate handle, not just the gate itself.
- If prompted, place the key on the key holder beside the gate, then interact with it again to unlock the door.
This is one of the easiest keys to miss because it’s hidden in the grass outside, leading many players to spend time searching every room inside the house.
