Getting pushed around by the wind in Arc Raiders? Learn how to fix your aim, save your stamina, and find the new First Wave Caches in the Shrouded Sky update.
The new Hurricane update (v1.15) makes the wind your biggest enemy.
- The Trick: Running with the wind makes you fast, running against it kills your stamina.
- The Secret: Take off your shield in the storm. The wind kicks up trash that makes your shield spark, telling every enemy exactly where you are.
1. Mastering the Wind (Simple Movement)
You’ll notice immediately that the wind in the Shrouded Sky update isn’t just for show—it actually pushes you.
- Tailwind (Wind at your back): You’ll run like a track star. Use this to escape sticky situations or beat other squads to an extraction point.
- Headwind (Wind in your face): You’ll move like you’re stuck in mud. Your stamina bar will disappear in seconds.
- Pro Tip: If you have to move against the wind, don’t sprint. Walk normally and move from building to building to stay out of the gale.
2. Why You Should Drop Your Shield
This is the most important change in the 2026 update. Standard shields weren’t built for a hurricane.
In the open storm, flying dirt and scrap hit your shield. This causes it to glitch and spark.
- The Problem: In the dark, grey fog of the storm, those sparks are like a neon sign saying “Shoot Me” to other players.
- The Fix: Turn your shield OFF when you are moving between locations. You’ll be much harder to see in the fog, allowing you to sneak past ARC units and rival Raiders.
3. Fixing Your Aim (Aim-Drag)
If it feels like your gun is “drifting” while you aim, it’s not your controller/mouse—it’s the wind.
- Bullet Drift: The wind pushes your bullets. If the wind is blowing hard to the right, you need to aim a little bit to the left of your target.
- Aim-Drag: Strong gusts will actually “pull” your crosshair.
- The Simple Fix: Go into your settings and slightly increase your Aim Sensitivity. This helps you “fight” the wind pull more easily.
4. How to Find “First Wave Caches”
The best part of the Hurricane? The wind is literally digging up old treasure called First Wave Caches. These have much better loot than standard boxes.
- Where to look: These spawn in open areas like the Dam and Spaceport.
- The Visual Cue: Look for areas where the wind is swirling in a circle (eddies). This usually means the wind has cleared a hole in the dirt.
- The Audio Cue: Use your headphones! These caches make a distinct metallic whistling sound that you can hear through the wind.
