Boosting your Crafting level in Old School RuneScape (OSRS) lets you craft high-level items, complete quests, and unlock new content. Below are the best methods to increase your Crafting level quickly and efficiently.
Boost Method | Crafting Boost | How to Get It | Notes / Best Use |
---|---|---|---|
Mushroom Pie | +4 (per bite) | Make with Sulliuscep cap + pie shell | 2 bites per pie, great for quick boosts |
Spicy Stew (Orange) | -5 to +5 (random) | Complete Evil Dave’s RFD quest, add spice | High boost potential but random results |
Crafting Cape | +1 (constant) | Buy after reaching 99 Crafting | Reliable, good for small-level gaps |
Poison Chalice | +1 (chance-based) | Get from Stankers near Coal Trucks | Random effect, fun but not dependable |
Mushroom Pie
Mushroom Pie is the most beginner-friendly Crafting boost. Each pie has two bites, and each bite gives +4 Crafting. You can make it by combining a Sulliuscep cap with a pie shell, then cooking it. It’s great for a quick level increase to craft a specific item or progress through a quest.
Spicy Stew
Spicy Stew with orange spice gives a random Crafting boost from -5 to +5. To use it, you must first complete Evil Dave’s part of the Recipe for Disaster quest. Then, mix 1–3 doses of orange spice into a regular stew. This method is powerful but random, so expect a few attempts to get the boost you need.
Crafting Cape
The Crafting Skillcape provides a constant +1 boost to Crafting and can be used anytime after reaching level 99 Crafting. Just wear the cape and activate its effect. It’s perfect for quick tasks or when you’re only one level short.
Poison Chalice
The Poison Chalice gives a chance of +1 Crafting, but its effect is random and not guaranteed. You can get it from Stankers, who is located west of Seers’ Village near the Coal Trucks. Use this method only if you’re feeling lucky – it’s not reliable for important tasks.
Extra Tips
- Use Preserve Prayer to make your boost last longer.
- Plan boosts carefully around key quests or high-level items.
- Only one boost counts at a time – the highest one will apply.
